Looking for a roommate

Hi,

Thanks for stopping by. I am looking for a roommate who will be sharing a sweet spot in Astoria. I will describe the place, myself, and my ideal roommate.

Move-in Date: Anytime after Oct 1st

Length of Stay: The longer the better

Rent: $950 a month + utility/internet (usually, elec bill comes out to be $40 avg and the internet bill $75. We will share the cost.)

Location: It is right in the middle of two stations, Broadway and 36th ave. It takes 5 minutes to both stations. You could occasionally hear the train if the window is open. The apartment is located on a quiet street.

Building: We do have an amazing combination of Elevator/Laundry+Dryer Room/Live-in Super all in the building. Cats are welcome. Sorry no dogs. Personally, I don't have any pets.

Layout: From left to right, there are master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. You will be in the master bedroom (10'-0" by 15'-9"). I have installed a door in the living room so that there is a complete separation from the hallway and act like another room.

Master Bedroom: You will be living in this room. It's a queen size bed room (10ft X 15ft 9in). It can fit a queen bed, a dresser, and a sofa/or desk. (I can help you with laying out furniture on the plan, using a software, if you would like.) The ceiling is 9ft high. When you close the door, the sound will be completely sealed. It's perfect for someone who wants to enjoy quiet peace. You will be using the one closet right in front of the room. The photos below are taken around 1 o'clock inside the room.

Apartment Quality: Just 2 weeks before I moved in (November 2017), they renovated the kitchen and the bathroom. Bubble bath in a clean tub is not a fantasy for us. There is a cute dining area in the kitchen.

We have a plenty of kitchen cabinets. You will be using exactly half of them.  The first photo was taken when I moved in. I am posting it since it shows the layout better. The second photo is how it is furnished now. The third photo is the bathroom. The fourth photo is taken at the corner of the hallway. There are three built-in closets (one is not shown on the photo). I am currently using two closets and you will be using one. In addition, we also have a linen closet that I bought.

A bit about me:

I am a 30-year-old woman. I have a 9-6 job in the city, but I am mostly working from home nowadays during the pandemic. (I have been voluntarily going into the office once a week.) I used to stay active but the current events have forced me to pick a new hobby, which is to play video games all day inside my room.

Person I am looking for:

- My ideal roommate would be a female, working professional. Students are fine.

- Neat and responsible of taking care of home together.

Home environment I want to create together:

- A relaxing place to crash after long hours of work

- A place where you can be just yourself

Basic etiquettes that I am expecting:

- Guests are always welcome, as long as one of them doesn't become a 3rd roommate. Notices would be nice too. However, with the current pandemic, I would feel more comfortable with not having people over too often. Hopefully, this grim time will pass soon.

- Cleaning the shared areas on rotations

What you'd need, if you see yourself in this apartment:

- The first month rent $950 + deposit $950 and a copy of your photo ID. The deposit will be returned when you are moving out after inspection of any damage to the room/common areas.
